No other couple to date has so embraced their color theme like these two. Vibrant fuchsia pink and midnight black created a tremendous impact that perfectly reflected this couple. The bouquets and boutonnieres featured pink spotted feathers and black marabou and spider Dahlia’s.

What can you say about a couple who just seem perfect for each other. These two nature lovers decided t tie the knot in Canmore in the great outdoors. The day was beautiful and warm just like Colleen and Ed. The Hydrangea bouquets showcased mini Cymbidium Orchids and a collar of wispy Monkey Grass. Table centers of planted wheat grass carried through the natural vibe.

We created some stunning floral arrangements this past weekend for Terra Law of Inspired Occasions Bridal Fair booth. We have worked with Terra for quite a while now and I am still blown away both the creative and unique designs she comes up with.  We created two distinct looks for Inspired Occasions – One Modern and the other Southern Belle Inspired.  Which one is your favorite?

We are famous!!! Okay not quite but the bouquets we created for a great couple are featured in Weddings In Alberta Magazine. Check it out! http://weddingsinalberta.com/inspirationroom.php?post_id=211

This is a vibrant and passionate couple who didn’t shy away from color. Bright pink, orange and yellow  combined together to create stunning bouquets.  Dark pink Cobra Lilies, orange Asiatic Lilies and yellow and orange Alstromeria were the perfect flowers to create an elegant yet rustic feel to wedding.

A great fun-loving couple who tied the knot at the Calgary Zoo. We say it if all our couples, but these two are so in love with each other that you can’t help but smile as you look at them. Love the Ringbearer ‘s Ring Apples – great idea from Inspired Occasions.

Purple and Silver are this years hot Holiday colors. Imagine your dining table draped in floor length white linen with a silver organza overlay running down the center accented with loops and twirls of 4″ wide crushed velvet ribbon in purple with glittering silver threads. Liking it so far, well now let’s add square silver charger plates, a collection of mercury glass candle sticks in different heights and sizes with silver pillar candles and silver ornaments as place card holders. Now are you loving it, well let’s finish it off with  a single perfect purple anemone tucked into each napkin fold and a collection of small mix and match clear vases with silver glitter branches and more purple anemones. You have just set the trendiest of tables. Now carry out the color scheme a bit more with a plum toned and silver tree and sit back and wait for the compliments.

Tomorrow is our invitation only Enchanted Evening Open House Event.  We will be showcasing local artist Erin Brekke Conn’s stunning work and collecting donations for the Calgary Food Bank. As well, Christmas has happened at Modern Petals, so you will want to check out all our great Holiday Ideas. As an added incentive all our Holiday Decor is 50% off a great way to jump start your seasonal decorating.

I love a more rustic and natural approach to Holiday decorating. To me it evokes childhood memories of chopping down our own Christmas Tree and decorating it with found treasures and bit and pieces of the outdoors. This year we have some really great new items to bring that touch of Nature into your home. This years new featured items are botanically correct artificial greenery and Birch bark covered items.

I think your outdoor planters set the mood and this year we have fabulous birch logs that just need a bit of winter foliage to dress them up.  As well, our line of Birch covered pieces features stars in a variety of sizes, neat wreaths and great looking pots to house your holiday plants.

Red is The classic holiday color, but there is no reason to think it is passe. Red can be fresh and modern. Try stacking a collection of red ornaments into a tall vase – instant glamour! Another way to modernize traditional red is by creating designs with a different style like a topiary arrangement instead of the classic long and low table center. Something else to think about is using just one type of flower and filling a vase with them. This way you have your classic red flowers, but done in a fresh new way.  Finally nothing is more welcoming than the traditional wreath on your front door, but why not mix it up this year and feature an iced berry arched swag. Sure to get people talking.
